Refund and Cancellation Policy
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work, in plain terms, before you pay. It is fair to you and to Anakalice, and it does not remove any rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other applicable law. The guiding idea: you pay for work actually done and for costs properly committed; where we have failed to deliver what you paid for, you are entitled to a fair refund.
Final payment and handover
The final balance, the remaining 20 percent, is due before final handover. We hand over the finished project in full once the balance is paid. Until the balance is paid in full, the project is not fully handed over.
1. Cancelling before work begins
You can get a refund only while we have not yet started work on your project and before we have committed any third-party costs for you. Please note that once you confirm and your payment is received, we usually begin work promptly, often the same day, so the opportunity to cancel for a refund is short. Once work has started, or third-party costs such as a domain or hosting have been committed for you, fees are no longer refundable, except as set out in the sections below. We do not charge a separate administrative fee.
2. You cancel after work has started
You pay for the work done up to the cancellation and for committed third-party costs. If your advance payment is more than that, we refund the difference. If it is less, we invoice the balance for the work done.
3. You cancel after partial delivery
You pay for the delivered portion and for work in progress up to that point. We hand over the work you have paid for.
4. Completed work
Once work is delivered, the fees for completed work are not refundable. If something we delivered is faulty, we correct genuine defects free within 30 days of handover, as set out in the next section. A change of mind, or a new request that was not in the agreed scope, is not a defect.
5. We are unable to deliver
If we cannot deliver what you paid for and that is our responsibility, you receive a refund for the part not delivered, or we agree a fix or a credit with you.
6. Defective or non-conforming deliverables
We correct genuine defects in delivered work at no charge within 30 days of handover. A defect is a fault in what we delivered, not a change of mind, a new feature, or new content. For example, asking us after delivery to swap in a different picture, or to add something that was not in the agreed scope, is a change that is quoted as new work, not a defect. We do not provide cash refunds for completed work; our remedy for a genuine defect is to fix it within the 30-day window.
7. Subscriptions
Subscription services follow their own terms. For the school management system, billing is per term and is not refundable once a term has started; cancelling simply means the subscription is not renewed, and access continues to the end of the term you paid for. That product's own terms govern it in full.
8. Third-party charges and expenses
Money already spent with third parties for your project cannot be recovered once it is spent. This includes any domain, hosting or licence we have paid for, and any app-store or Google Play publishing fees that are yours. Where a refund applies, it never includes money already spent this way.
